Iowa Writers’ House and The Dream Center host a night of sharing

Iowa Writers’ House and The Dream Center will host a night of sharing. This year’s  event is entitled This Is Our Peace: Many Races, One Iowa. In this second annual event, the group is hosting a night of spoken word and sharing – on August 11th at Iowa City’s Uptown Bill’s Coffee House, 7:00 p.m. 760 S Dubuque St, Iowa City.

Iowa Writers’ House invites writers to submit short poems or essays on topic of racial inclusion and living together in harmony. This is a topic that is sensitive and of the moment, and we believe writing and sharing is a poignant way to open hearts and minds to the way forward.

Submissions will also be considered for inclusion in our publication featuring a collection of final pieces. Poems and essays should be submitted to the Iowa Writers’ House by Saturday, August 6 for presentation and August 11th for consideration for publication.
